Personal Pedagogy
My role as an educator is to bring the curriculum to the
students in an interesting and relevant manner whilst encompassing all students
learning styles, their backgrounds and interests.
I aim to provide a learning environment that is supportive and productive through building positive relationships, based on respect , value and care of each individual student. Within this, I will nurture students’ self-confidence and willingness to take risks with their learning as well as trying to ensure all students experience success through support of me, their teacher, valuing and recognising their efforts and work. High expectations are set and students are encouraged to take responsibility of their own learning and to be prepared to pursue and try out new ideas.
Throughout the students learning, I aim to ensure students’ different learning needs, social needs and cultural perspectives are reflected in the learning program. I aim to use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate the range of abilities and interests and include a range of strategies that support different ways of thinking and learning drawing on students’ prior experiences, knowledge and skills.
Assessments are continuous and encompass a variety of aspects of understanding and practice to monitor students learning. I endeavour to provide feedback regularly to support students' further learning and encourage them to monitor and take responsibility for their own learning.
To the best of my ability, I will always work for my students and with my students, to help them reach the best of their ability.
